Shellys first caught the eye and interest of the public when they supplied shoes for The Jam (Paul Weller’s first band) on their first major tour.

The success that followed prompted more store openings, and then in 1988, a well-known London stylist featured Shellys in a major photoshoot in British Elle. Suddenly, Shellys was the hippest shoe store in town with tie-ins with hot 80s designers such as Katherine Hamnett and John Richmond.
